Most people hit 50 and start slowing down. Not this guy.

After decades spent teaching teenagers, coaching athletes, and fixing just about everything with his own two hands, he’d earned every busted knuckle and every gray hair hiding in his beard. But with all that mileage came a new problem—his beard was getting rough, dry, and downright untamable. The products on the market either smelled like chemicals, felt greasy, or didn’t work at all.

So, like any true DIYer, he rolled up his sleeves and decided to make his own.

He started small—mixing oils in the basement between lesson plans, weight room sessions, and late-night grading. He researched ingredients the way he studied game film: obsessively. He tested batch after batch until he created something that actually worked. Something that made his beard softer, stronger, and healthier. Something he was proud to put his name on.

Soon coworkers, players, fellow teachers, and even parents started noticing.
“What are you using?”
“Can I buy some?”
“Make me a bottle.”

That’s when he realized he wasn’t just fixing a problem—he was building a brand.

A brand built on hard work, clean ingredients, and everyday craftsmanship. A brand for guys who don’t mind a little dirt under their nails but still take pride in how they show up. A brand for the kind of man he’d been his whole life.

And just like that, the teacher, coach, and lifelong tinkerer became something new:  the founder of Busted Knuckle Beard.
